The main aim of Interfel’s International Commission is to promote French fruit and vegetables

International trade fairs

Each year, Interfel takes part in several trade fairs worldwide as part of its efforts to assure its institutional presence on the sector by promoting its products and bringing together professionals, institutions, and journalists.

Two key trade fairs in Europe

  • Fruit Logistica, Berlin (Germany)

A must-go international event for Europeans in the industry and a key part in the supply and demand cycle for fresh produce. Fruit Logistica covers every related sector of activity across the board and offers unbeatable insights into the latest innovations, products, and services at every stage of the international supply chain. It also offers exceptional opportunities to contact key decision-makers of the industrial sector.

Interfel participates and offers attractive activities to visitors of the French stand: the French Restaurant, the French Tower and delicious food tasting sessions.

  • Fruit Attraction, Madrid (Spain)

Fruit Attraction is an expending event for fresh fruit and vegetables that hosts Interfel in a space devoted to all things culinary related, featuring a chef performing live and a centre dedicated to exhibiting companies. The French Tower always gets a big thumbs-up from visitors and exhibitors.

In Third Countries

Interfel supports exporters in their actions abroad, we also participate in several international trade fairs outside the EU.

  • AsiaFruit Logistica, Hong Kong (China): In 2019, Interfel participated in this fair with ten French companies from the fresh fruit and vegetables sector.
  • PMA, United States, Interfel participated in the Orlando trade fair in 2019 with a space decorated with the colours of « The European Rendezvous », a campaign co-financed by the EU.
  • First participation in the CIIE trade fair (China International Import Expo in 2019) which took place in November in Shanghai. This was a joint participation with the CNIEL under the France-China Agrifood Council (CAFC). France was the highlighted country for 2019, with more than 15,000 square metres represented by French companies.

Participation renewed in 2020 and 2021, this trade fair attracts more than 400,000 visitors and offers new channels for exporting countries to do business in China. It also strengthens cooperation and promotes the collective prosperity of the global economy and global trade. It is organized by the Chinese President Xi Jinping and aims to reflects his genuine wish to open up his country to foreign products which are sought by Chinese consumers.

  • Gulfood, Dubai (United Arab Emirates), first participation for Interfel in 2021 with five French companies from the fruit and vegetables sector

Zoom sur le Club Export

Focus on the Export Club (to be combined with the Export Club 2022 call for proposals)

A key component of the International Commission, the Export Club is a collective of six French companies in the sector wishing to pool their skills and strategy to facilitate promotional activities abroad and increase their international market share.

The companies involved have been able to intensify their promotional drives for apples and kiwifruit, all of which in non-EU countries. Most investments have been directed towards the Middle East (the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Oman, etc.), Asia (Taiwan, Thailand and Malaysia) and America (Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador and Mexico).
